While The Bad Batch is indeed a Clone Wars spin-off, what makes it so different from its parent show is that structurally, Bad Batch is built around an established ensemble, with episodes following a far more linear progression of the squad’s adventures through the cosmos with a narrow approach to storytelling.
The concept of the show is amazing, but it somehow fails to live up to the Clone Wars in every possible way except the animation, feeling simply too bland and disappointing. Now during the rise of the Galactic Empire Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Echo along with a new female clone Omega are mercenaries while Crosshair has opted to work with the Empire, thus deserting his former brothers. The show is based on Clone squad 99 which consists of abnormal clones Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Crosshair each of whom has unique traits and were once assigned on specialized missions during the Clone Wars. "The Bad Batch” always seemed a bit strange if not an awesome prospect for a Star Wars show.
